Summary of Purpose

The mission of the Macon County Health Department is to enhance and ensure quality of life for all residents of Macon County by:

  • offering evidenced based health, wellness and social service programs;
  • encouraging treatment, education and linkage;
  • promoting prevention;
  • advancing independence, inclusion and sensitivity to individual differences; and,
  • providing advocacy and collaboration for community resources.

The Macon County Health Department employs approximately 91 full-time employees and 26 part-time employees.

Fees

Fees: Statutory fees may apply. If no statutory fees apply, FOIA fees apply as follows. When a person requests a copy of a record maintained in an electronic format, the actual cost of the recording medium (i.e., disc) may be charged. A fee reasonably calculated to reimburse the actual cost to copy records may be charged. No fee shall be charged for the first 50 pages of black and white copies. The fee for letter or legal size copies shall not exceed 15 cents per page. Color copies or a size other than letter or legal may be charged at the actual cost.
