Weekly Features Local health departments are not only excellent resources for their communities, but also are one of the least known. Most people know that your Macon County Health Department provides Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) services, immunizations, and inspections and licensing for food service establishments, but are not familiar with the plethora of other programs and services available for all residents of our community. Your Macon County Health Department wants to get the word out about all of our programs and services, which serve residents of all ages, education levels, and incomes. To get the word out about everything your Macon County Health Department does, starting November 2009 we will send out and post a brief, one-page weekly feature. These features will highlight each of the health department’s programs and also specific services within each of these programs. While most people have heard of WIC and know we offer immunizations, they may not know everything WIC has to offer and to whom, and they most likely do not know of all the immunizations offered and in which instances they are recommended.
Because we know you are out in the community
touching the lives of others, we believe it is crucial for you to know
everything your Macon County Health Department provides for community residents.
That way, if someone comes to you, looking for a resource, you will know you can
send them here. We sincerely appreciate your dedication to Macon County and we
also work hard to make our county the best it can be for everyone living in it.
We strive to “touch the lives of everyone in Macon County” and we strongly
believe one of the most important steps in doing this is making sure our county
residents know about everything
